Northwestern University Medical School. He is currently on
the Board of Directors and is Program Chairman, as well as
past President, of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive
Surgery; is a past member of the Board of Trustees for the
American Academy of Ophthalmology; and is a past member of
the House of Delegates of the American Medical Association.

R. Kraff, MD Committed to advancing new technologies in the
field of ophthalmology, Dr. Colman Kraff helped to pioneer
laser vision correction.
In February of 1991, as part of a five-site, U.S., FDA clinical
trial team, Dr. Kraff successfully performed the first excimer
laser procedures in the Chicagoland area using the VISX Excimer
Laser. Since that time, Dr. Kraff and the Kraff Eye Institute
have devoted their practice to specializing in laser vision
correction. The Kraff Eye Institute has been and continues
to be the lead U.S. investigative site for all VISX LASIK
FDA clinical trials, performing the very first hyperopic LASIK

KRAFF-COOPER, MD

Cheryl
obtained her undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois
and her Medical Degree from Chicago Medical School where she
was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Society and received
the Top Student in Basic Sciences Award. Following her internship
at Evanston Hospital, she served her residency at the University

Dr.
William Lissner, serving the growing Chicagoland community
since 1976 with comprehensive ophthalmology, is on staff at
Northwestern Memorial Hospital and on the faculty of Northwestern
University Medical School.
Graduating from Northwestern University Medical School where
he received the Upjohn Achievement Award, Dr. Lissner completed
his internship and residency at Northwestern University Medical
Center. His Fellowship in diseases of the cornea was done
at Moorsfield Eye Hospital in London, and he served as Chief

ORLIN-KRAFF, MD

of the retina
Dr.
Caryn Orlin-Kraff is one of a small, select group of female
retinal surgeons in the US, specializing in diabetic retinopathy,
macular degeneration, retinal detachments, eye tumors, and
eye trauma.
She received her undergraduate degree, Cum Laude, from the
University of Pennsylvania and graduated in the top ten percent
of her class from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Orlin-Kraff interned at the Illinois Masonic Medical Center
and completed her residency and a Fellowship in medical and
surgical diseases of the retina and vitreous at Northwestern
