The Kraff Eye Institute is proud to announce the introduction
of IntraLase at our
facilities.
IntraLase allows the doctors to use a new blade-free laser
technology for performing the critical first step in the lasik
procedure: creating the corneal flap. Prior to IntraLase,
this first step was done manually by our doctors using a hand-held
device with an oscillating metal razor blade, called a microkeratome.
By providing you with latest technologies, the experts at
The Kraff Eye Institute continue to strive to make your lasik
experience as safe and effective as possible. For more information

Phakic Intraocular Lenses
Currently there are two FDA approved implantable lenses for nearsightedness—the Visian Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) by Staar Surgical and the Verisyse lens by AMO. The Kraff Eye Institute was involved in the original FDA clinical study for the Visian, and was among the first in the Chicagoland area to treat patients with the lens. These lenses are typically used for correction of higher levels of nearsightedness in qualified patients. These may be patients that otherwise do not qualify for LASIK. The Kraff Eye Institute offers both of these new, advanced technologies. For more information and to schedule a consultation to see if you qualify for either of these lenses, please call 312-338-1234.

Multi-Focal Intraocular Lenses
Kraff Eye Institute provides the most contemporary technology in every ophthalmic field, and is proud to offer multi-focal lens implantation for those suffering from cataracts. In the past, those diagnosed with cataracts were confined to receiving one treatment, a monofocal lense, which offered correction for distance alone. Mutli-focal lenses like Alcon's ReSTOR and AMO's ReZoom offer potential correction of distance and near vision, reducing the dependence on bifocals. Depending on your visual needs, general eye health and the doctor's recommendation, a multi-focal lens may be the answer for you. To schedule an appointment, please call our office 312-338-1234. |
